Strong Turnout at Session Three to Review Eight Facility Options

The Lisle community came out strong on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 to participate in the review of eight facility options being considered as part of the District’s Facility Master Plan.  Superintendent Keith Filipiak began the Facilities presentation by sharing key foundational information to be considered as the participants reviewed the options.  Dr. Filipiak discussed important factors that impact facilities such as:  relationships, communication, consistent expectations, school climate, instruction, transportation, finances, safety, number of schools a family attends and parental involvement.

Architects Mark Jolicoeur and Rick Young then presented eight facility options for the Vision 202 participants to review and evaluate.  The options were developed based on previous Vision 202 participant feedback, school district needs, the potential uses for the five facility sites as well as critical information from the facilities’ assessments completed during the summer of 2015.  The scenarios presented at Session Three focused primarily on the elementary buildings due to highest needs; however, adjustments to the Junior High were also included as part of the master planning process. (While not shown in the options, necessary updates will be made to the High School as well.)
